INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you use our application, we collect the following information.

DEVICE INFORMATION

Your device collects data to estimate a variety of metrics like the number of magic tricks made, the starting time and end time of the play session, the time spent in the game, the sensor data from the accelerometer and the gyroscope of the phone, the difficulty level of the game, and the number of challenges received. The data remains stored in the phone until the application is reset.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

During the testing period, the researcher will extract the data recorded on the device and transfer it to an encrypted server that belongs to the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences for further analysis.

All the collected data is anonymised and cannot be traced back to the player.

The data will be used during a study to understand how self-adaptive play complexity can help motivate children to do hand therapy at home. We will analyse the data to see the amount of time that the child plays with the smart toy and how the game is changing during the time of play.

HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED

Your data will be handled confidentially, the anonymity of your data is guaranteed, and it will never be disclosed to third parties without your permission. The study’s findings will be used for academic purposes. They could be presented in publications and academic conferences, as well as for developing and improving interactive toys that can benefit children with Cerebral Palsy and their families.
